In a recent painting challenge in the month of February, I wanted to incorporate paintings that would reflect thoughts and activities that typically happen during the month. 

Since it’s the Month of Love, I started thinking about different kinds and examples of love.  These thoughts are what inspiration me to represent the unconditional love bestowed on a family pet.  I see this look often from my grandpups when looking at their humans. I knew I wanted to incorporate my BOLD techniques in this one, where I paint in the colours my mind sees and not necessarily the reality of what my eyes see.

I have painted several pet and memorial paintings using this technique.  My clients love how the BOLD colours add to the personality of their fur babies, and helps them hold their memories close.
